Grow Real Estate Portfolio

👋🏼 Hey guys I’m looking for some input. I’ve enjoyed reading everyone’s thoughts and experiences on here so thank you for that!

**I’m looking to expand my real estate portfolio and have the capital to do so. But have to consider some factors.**

————————————

To provide a little bit of context…

I have a rental property (SFH) with some equity, stock investments, and savings. Could be a sizable down payment on a property, or a few. I also have a reliable property manager.

I'm currently unemployed while in school studying anesthesia for the next few years, but receive some tax free income from the VA. With no employment, qualifying for a loan may not be an option and my VA loan is in full use.

I am debt free except for my mortgage, and fortunately tuition is covered.

**BLUF: I am looking for the best route to grow my real estate portfolio even while engulfed full-time in school (maybe a more low-maintenance option like REIT's).

I would like to be house hacking but it wasn’t an option at the time of the move (from San Diego, in LA currently).

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!
