Real Estate Agent- Slow Summers

Nick Ortega
Posted

Hey guys!

I'm a Realtor in the Miami/Ft Lauderdale area. This summer has been extremely slow business wise for me but I know it will pick up in the next month or two.

Although I know it will pick up, does anyone have any tips on extra income ideas in the industry while there are slow periods? Thanks!

I would focus on your business and be careful about adding too much to your plate. It's easy to get discouraged, take your foot off the gas but the work you do now will reflect in 30-90 days. Florida was booming for a handful of years so it was easier to do business. Now with the market shifted, rates different you have to switch things up. You need to consistently prospect, be active on social media and work on your business. The days of easy money are gone as an agent. In 2023 I hit the same wall. Rates changed and I had to pivot or I would die. I get paying the bills and there is things you can do to help supplement(uber, part time jobs, uber eats, flipping items, etc) but your business is priority.
