What do you want from your Real Estate Agent ?

I am new to the Real Estate world.  I have owned and operated my own business for many years.  I started my Real Estate education 27 years ago. Recently I decided to pursue the idea of becoming a real estate entrepreneur.   I discovered that I was  one class short of finishing.  I will be licensed in about 6-8 weeks.  I have a local Real Estate Broker that I am meeting with tomorrow that wants me to join their team.  I am very involved in my community.  I put the word out and have several mentor opportunities.

I have listened to about 40+ podcast on bigger pockets.  I keep hearing over and over the issues that are mentioned with buyers/sellers need of having an agent that understands/specializes in Investors.  I have the idea to focus on becoming "the agent/Realtor" for the investor.  My question to you.

What do you want from your agent ?

  • What are things that frustrated you ?
  •  What would you like to see better understood ?
  • What were the things that made you want to work with that person again ?
  • Did your agents build relationships with you and if so what was the key thing that helped with establishing the relationship ?
  • IS having an agent that is "niche/specialized" something you see an area of need and would that be a persuading factor in choosing that agent ?
  • anything else you want to add

Thank you!  As an entrepreneur I have learned to ask before I fire on my idea.  The best discoveries come from asking.

(I LOVE what I do as a photography & a creative artist!  I look forward to being able to use these talents in the real estate industry and still be able to maintain the success that I have as an artist.  My goal is to have more freedom to "choose"

Hi @Leila Jones You are asking a great question. I need someone who:

* Understands my personal investment philosophy and has experience with buy & hold investors.

* Gets the requirements and types of deals I want and runs the numbers themselves quickly before showing me deals.

* Actually brings me real leads. I can look and triage the MLS just fine without help.

* Is on board with the reality that sometimes deals are with my own money and easy to put together, and something its a lot of juggling.

* Back me up and make me look good in front of my partners / syndicators.

* Acts like a partner, not a sales person.

* Accountable. Is really good at setting expectations and then delivering or through communication resetting them.

* Curious and & knowledgable. They know what is changing in the niche and the area, the impacts of laws and local ordinances.
