Can you market Homepath properties like you can a HUD property?

I know that as long as you follow a certain template/guidelines you can market HUD properties as a realtor if you are not the listing agent.

An agent that I know asked me if the same can be done for Homepath properties.  I told him I have no clue, but I have this awesome forum I can ask.  Can this be done?  If so, is there anywhere on the Homepath website or anywhere else that says you can?  I looked online and couldn't find anything.

@Michael Noto , perhaps I am missing the point, but why would you want to market a property you were not the listing agent for?

So it  can seem like you are the listing agent for all these great deals....lead capture...as far as being able to do it with HOMEPATH I'm not 100% Sure, I would tell that agent to check with his/her broker.

@Mindy Jensen I know agents that market HUD properties, which is OK as long as you follow the rules for doing so. One of those rules is not presenting yourself as the listing broker.

Agents do this as a way to get buyer leads and I know agents that do so very effectively with HUDs.

Homepath it is easier to market then HUD .With homepath you register as an agent and bid online for your clients Hud you must register thru your broker and your broker must have a special sign on ,home path is much easy to register

I don't think you can market HomePath properties like you can HUD. Agents with HomePath have a more traditional listing agreement where HUD is very clear other agents can market them.

I would contact the listing agent for the HomePath properties and ask them if you can market them and see what they say. They will probably ask there asset manager for guidance and you can get a solid answer. I am not a Homepath Fannie Mae listing broker, just HUD.
