Starting Out in the Bay Area...
Hello All!
I am working on my required classes for my California license and am continually trying to plan ahead and prepare for when I actually start in the field...not the easiest task. ;) Any advice for planning ahead financially? I have researched online and have spoken with some local brokerages about what expenses there are up front, but am curious about what others spent up front in the first few months. Also, how long before you had a return on investment? (I know this differs for how much work you put in, the area you are working, etc.) Any tips or advice on getting started is always appreciated, too! If you live in the Bay Area (East Bay a plus!), let's grab coffee and talk Real Estate sometime! Thanks for letting me pick your brain(s)!

@Colleen Hendrickson It is a rewarding career but it can be very difficult.
The single most important thing you can do is market. When you are done marketing the second most important thing you can do is market some more.
Get out in front of as many people as you possibly can and then do a great job for them. The business will then grow from there. Never take your foot off the marketing petal though.
The types of clients your looking to work with will change your marketing strategy and cost.
Some things that have always worked great for me.
- Social Media.
- Print.
- Signs.
- T-Shirts.
- Logo'd Vehicles.
