I am not licensed currently, but I know that an agent is required to disclose that they are licensed when purchasing a property. Is it still necessary for an agent to disclose they are a licensed agent if they are purchasing property out of state?
For example someone is licensed in California, but is buying property in Texas , a state they do not have a license in.
I don't believe so, but would disclose anyways. Some people prefer to deal with licensees.
@Joseph M. Best advice I received from a mentor was "disclose down to your underpants." You shouldn't hurt the deal by being honest.
@Joseph M. When in doubt, disclose.
I was told by my legal hotline attorney that you have to "disclose" when you have a financial interest in the property.
Another vote for "when in doubt, disclose".
Thank you all for your responses, I appreciate it.
