Refinance from abroad

Hi there, new to Bigger Pockets. We are American citizens living abroad who are trying to refinance our US investment property. Running into same issues from various lenders including the bank that has our home loan: either they won’t refi because it’s not our primary residence or they won’t refi because we live abroad. There are no salary or credit issues whatsoever. Any advice?
