What is the risk of owning an ADU without complete permits?
Recently purchased a duplex with a detached garage that has been converted to an ADU. I've had a contractor look at the work and it's everything appears meets code but there are no permits that were pulled beyond electrical and plumbing about 20 years ago. The permits do not appear to cover some of the work such as the kitchen. What are the risks if we rent out this unit?
