Contractor went over estimate

So I’m just asking to see what you guys would do in this situation. Someone I know had her land cleared they quoted her 7,300 for clearing and hauling all the debris. This included 9 truck loads. Before they began they walked through told her they could not pull up four oak trees so she had to find someone to cut and grind four trees costing 3,250. But in the end they charged her 9,900 because she told them to stop at 22 truck loads. But They Ended up having to come back to get the left over debris which added another 2,000. She ended up paying a total of a little over 15,000. 9,900 for the loads and clearing the land, 2,000 for the extra debris, and 3,250 for removal of 4 oaks and grinding ( done by a different person) due to being too close to another house. They would not give her any receipts. So in the case where they quoted 7,300 but ended up charging 11,900 instead was there anything she could of done ? Also keep in mind she had time find someone else to cut and pull four trees could she get anything back from that cost?
