Political Forums Announcement

I'm sure that many of our members are going to be very excited by this announcement.

In an effort to move the political discussions off of the main forums, we've created a Politics Group here on BP.

We will soon be migrating all political discussions to the group and will close the political forum on the main forums after that.

This way, only those people who are interested in participating will have the opportunity to do so, and the rest of you won't have to deal with all the heated discussion on your recent posts tab or anywhere else, unless of course you join the group.

So, if you want to talk politics, jump in and join up (using the link above).

I like to hear other people's opinions, so I usually read the first 3-4 posts in the political discussions. After that, it degenerates into the same arguments from the same people. Nobody has anything new to say and neither side is listening to the other.

A special group is fine with me. Mostly, I appreciate not having the arguments going on in threads that have nothing to do with politics.

One of my favorite pages in the newspaper is Letters to the Editor. But those opinions are nicely confined to one page and labeled as opinions. They aren't dropped into news articles about unrelated things.

So, whatever you have to do to control it, is fine by me.
