I've noticed that a lot of times people will ask a question, and an immediate follow-up question will be, "Where do you live?" because real estate laws and conditions are tied to location.

I think it would be nice if new members were required to at least enter the state they live in (or country, if not in the US). That way, we could see that information next to the member's name when they post.

Not sure why someone wouldn't want to put in the state or country. I agree that many questions are dependent on location and giving more solid advice requires some understanding of where the OP is located.
