yesterday i met with a lady who has a duplex she is motivated to sell. The bank went through with the foreclosure process they never took possession of the property. However a out of state investor bought the debt from the bank, the investor recorded the lien with the county (Fulton, Atlanta,Ga) but not the amount of the lien. The investor doesn't want to take possession of the property either he just wants a profit over what he payed for the lien but he will not say how much he payed. my question is, Is it legal to have this lien and not record the amount? if so how can find out how much he payed? outside of him telling me directly which he wont do. and if it is illegal how do i go about clearing the lien?

Thanks in Advance

Chris

I like your expectant title, Millionaire McMath. As long as you are learning to think like a millionaire, learn to hire experts and delegate things you don't understand, to them.

In this case, that expert is a real estate attorney.

Also, you absolutely need to study up and learn how to research title. One way or another, you will get an education in this business. Either you study now or you might get educated right out of the game!

So, here's my challenge to you: go do the research, find out the facts, not just some layperson's opinion, and report back on this thread what you discovered.

Hope you find this to be profitable advise.
