Do you guys feel that the trulia crime rating for a specific area is accurate? In my area(San Diego) it seems to be in the ballpark for the areas I know well. I was looking at the Kansas City mo area and was trying to get a feel for the better areas. Thanks in advance.

I think it varies abit from site to site. I know the area I invest in has one problematic complex that produces 99% of the crime in the area. On crimewatch sites, you would think the whole area is problemmatic. So, not always ideal or a true picture.

Hope that helps.

I'd suggest contacting locals and getting their opinions. Either here, realtors, property managers..
