Silent partner

I am searching for a silent partner in Missouri.  Can someone give me some advice on where to search for a individual that is interested in investing and partnering.  I know the easiest spot is family and friends but I have also heard that doesn't make a good combination mixing with business.  I appreciate any advice you can give.
