Sheriff's Sale and Owners possessions remain

Purchased a property at sheriffs sale(in louisiana) this week and the home is vacated but previous owner left behind quite a bit of possessions.

Any advice on throwing out the possessions or going through the court process to do it!

Also...spoke to owner prior to sale and she informed me that she was removing what she was able to prior to sale date!

Hello Ryan, I like sheriff sales myself and have purchased a few this way in the past.  Once I take ownership of the property, I clear everything that isn't trash into the garage, I try and contact the owner the first week, if no luck I discard the items into a dumpster.  I asked the sheriffs office about this and I was told that Im well within my rights to do what I will with the property after I take ownership of it, so really its your call.
