Books that have made you a better real estate investor

So I bet this question gets asked quite often. What are some books that have helped you become a better real estate investor? I'm not necessarily referring to strictly real estate related books. Anything that you guys have found to be a benefit to your business life is what I want to hear about. Thanks!

Hi Jason,

I'm relatively new to real estate myself, and as such have been reading every book I can get my hands on, lol.  A few that I've found particularly useful in terms of understanding the business, doing good deal analysis, etc. are:

  • What Every Real Estate Investor Needs to Know About Cash Flow by Frank Gallinelli.  This book is incredibly useful both as a learning guide and reference.  There's an updated 2016 version as well.
  • The ABCs of Real Estate Investing by Ken McElroy.  This book offers a great breakdown of the buying process and also offers advice on property management and pitfalls to avoid.
  • Investing Duplexes, Triplexes & Quads by Larry Loftis.  Applicable if you're interested in 2-4 unit multifamily, and if so, this is a great book on purchasing and managing these types of properties.

BiggerPockets also has a guide on the best real estate books, which is where I found many of these.  I'd recommend checking it out!  Hope this helps, and best of luck in your endeavors.
