Homepath home purchase, contract negotiations

Hello

In Northern NJ.

Made an offer for a Homepath home through a Realtor and after some back and forth, offer was accepted. One of the negotiation points was the closing date of 2/27. 2/27 was asked for from the seller on 1/20. We asked for an extension on closing to 3/17 but they said no.

It's now 2/14. So that leaves me just 13 days for the Home Inspection, Title search, Mortgage approval, Oil Sweep, etc.

I have been in touch w/ my mortgage guy and we've gotten things ready with all the pre-approvals and documents.

Is it possible to close on such a short time frame? Should I just walk away and get my earnest money back? Should I go forward and see what happens?

Has anyone had any experience w/ Homepath and what happens if I miss the closing date?

Thanks for any info or advice.
