Anyone have Rents come down or higher Vacancy's during the 1990 Crash or 2008 Crash?

My father had a building in NH where his Vacancies were 50% in the 1990's Crash.  This killed his Cash Flow.

I know every region was affected differently, so curious to hear about other people's experiences.

Replied

its regionalized but in hard hit areas during the 08 crash many properties went 100% vacant and were lost to the banks..   other areas were not affected as much or at all.

tough markets in crash were

Vegas

Phx

FLA

Central CA

and a lot of this had to do with the  new home industry completely dying and the workers finding themselves out of a job and had to move to other cities leaving huge vacancy factors.
