Chicago has been pretty solid for investment lately if you can find a property, fact is there is a strong investor pool that snaps up properties as soon as they land. Despite the states economic issues, real estate has continued to show gains especially in Will County. If we based our investments solely on the financial picture of government, we would be looking to Asia or elsewhere in the world to invest before the United States. Best advice is to drive the neighborhoods , don't look solely at reports then make your move. Areas I have seen a few good deals lately...North Chicago, Romeoville, Joliet, Streamwood, Westmont, Lemont, Lombard and Woodridge to name a few.
