Hi Ben, as an owner in most towns in NJ you can pull your own permit only if the home is a 1 family home if you are residing there, for 2 family and up you will need a general contractor. I'm actually trying to pull permits now in Bloomfield for one of my investment properties and I'm running into that, like I said in most town, (all towns I have investments in so far seems to be the same, but I would check with your city hall before you proceed). PM me with any additional questions, I would love to connect. Good luck with the new investment property!
