What are you favorite books?

With the new year approaching I am making a goal to read 50 books in 2018. I have read 14 since this September and was curious what some of your favorite real estate, business and self improvement books. Thanks BP!

Here are some of my favorites:

The One Thing

Rich Dad Poor Dad

The Millionaire next door

One book I really enjoyed is 'Secrets to the Millionaire Mind' by T. Harv Eker. It helped me see how the 'programming' about finances I absorbed as a kid are still affecting how I think today.

Also, I just got the book 'Tribe of Mentors' by Tim Ferris and enjoying that as well. In general, I think reading books has expanded my 'context' and my worldview, but I would also recommend having a real estate goal to put what you are reading into action.

Good luck!

That's a great goal, @Joe Vastola ! I read 15 books in 2017 and will read 18 books in '18.

A few of my favorites from last year:

Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook - Gary V

The Ideal Team Player - Pat Lencioni

Leaders Eat Last - Sinek

@Joe Vastola That is a great goal !  My goal is for 50 books as well in 2018!

Here are some of my favs that I will recommend :

1. Think Grow & Rich

2. As A Man Thinketh

3. The Real Estate Game : The Intelligent Guide To Decisionmaking and Investment

4. Richest Man in Babylon

5.  Man's Search for Meaning

6. Blink : The Power of Thinking without Thinking

7.  Seven Spiritual Laws of Success

8. Awaken the Giant Within

Happy reading and to your success in 2018!

My favorites which are not covered already
1. Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell
2. Start with Why
3. Good to great
4. Turn the ship around
5. The tipping point
6. 7 habits of highly effective people

I'm currently on "Never Split the Difference"

I think it's a worthwhile book that can teach most Individuals various negotiation techniques.

Some of my faves not already mentioned (personal development):

The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod

Richest Man in Babylon The Compund Effect The Alchemist Never Split The Difference Think snd Grow Rich How to win friends and influence people Currently Reading Total Recall: My Unbelievably True life Story

• Discipline Equals Freedom - Jocko Willink
• The Creature from Jackel Island - G. Edward Griffin

Thanks for the mentions of my book!

Here are some of my favorites (I have a bias for BiggerPockets books, so this list does not include my own book or those of BiggerPockets' Publishing company, although I truly love our books!):

The Millionaire Next Door - Thomas J Stanley

The Millionaire Mind - Thomas J Stanley

Entreleadership - Dave Ramsey

The Compound Effect - Darren Hardy (And his little goal setting book "Living Your Best Year Ever")

Never Split the Difference - Chris Voss

The Millionaire Fastlane - MJ DeMarco

If you want to get a bit outside the realm of strictly business and self-improvement, there are a couple of good ones that I've read recently:

The Paradox of Choice - Barry Schwartz

Guns, Germs, and Steel - Jered Diamond

And, just for fun, I've been reading the Horatio Hornblower series by C.S. Forester. Which is awesome.

@Scott Trench I love Guns, Germs and Steel and Compound Effect. I've read the latter twice now and have put it on my list (along with How to Win Friends and Influence People) for at reading at least once a year.

Also Set for Life, Richest Man in Babylon, Millionaire Next Door, Rich Dad/Poor Dad and Cashflow Quadrant for general business mindset.

Millionaire Real Estate Investor was a great read for getting to grips with the model of real estate investing.

I'm still reading a bunch of real estate and business books so that's the list for now.

For fun you can't beat Phillip Pullman, Tolkien and James Herriot.

Find it, Fix it, Flip it by Michael Corbett. This is the book that got us started. Super easy read that de-mystified house flipping for me.

What Every Real Estate Investor Needs to Know About Cash Flow by Frank Galinelli. Incredibly detailed financial metrics valuable for all investors.

The 4 Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferriss. Not for everyone but there's some real freedom in many of his suggestions!

The ONE Thing

The Black Swan: The Impact of the Highly Improbable

Rich Dad Poor Dad

The War of Art

Outliers: The Story of Success

I love your goal @Joe Vastola ! I've listened to every BP podcast and just about every book I've bought since I got into investing came from recommendations from their guests. Since you're going for 50 I'm going to go ahead and hit you with every book I've bought since I got into this game. Feel free to pick and choose as you see fit:
