New to investing - good time to?

I purchased my first home in 2013 and have about $50K in equity. I am seriously thinking to sell my house and invest the cash in either rental properties or flipping. Given the market today, do you guys think it is a good time to get into investing or do you think it would be wise to hold off a year and see what the market does?
