Can anyone recommend an alternative to a sewer inspection?

I'm looking to purchase a house at a foreclosure auction.

Normally, I'd get a sewer inspection before purchasing a house. Since that's not possible in this case, is there another way I can gauge sewer-related risk of a specific property?

I know I can't eliminate risk in this regard. I'm just looking for ways to minimize it.
