Hi, I am going to make an offer for a property that needs a gut rehab. I wondering since it is going to be gutted, should I still get an foundation and roof inspection done? Any other inspection I should consider? It is going to be my first gut rehab project, therefore, any advise will be very appreciated.
Absolutely. Always get an inspection on property unless you've done so many rehabs that you can afford to overlook an inspection and foot the bill for hidden surprises in order to lock up a property quickly and for far below market value. Still, get an inspection if you can. Sometimes the best deals are the ones you don't do.
Something that can have a pretty big financial impact is inspecting the sewer lateral.
