My lawyer advised against lease options

He said it is not so much about it being legal to do in my state but more about what is written in the agreement that allows me to sublease to another tenant buyer in a sandwich lease option transaction. He said it is risky and should not be done. I was advised not to do subject-to either. That is two down, so what other investing options are there besides just wholesaling properties? I was looking for other ways to make money in real estate besides wholesaling. My lawyers have advised against the very things other investors are doing successfully. I thought it was worth a shot but now I have to rethink doing it after talking to my lawyer.

@Tony Marcelle, "other investors are doing successfully"? That sounds like guru-speak!

Who had you already been listening to? People who actually do succeed with sandwich leases and such like are not people who need to make extra money at seminars from people who have no savings and not much income. [But, they are people who would succeed in life anyway].

Whatever happened to: saving up deposits, and buying investments?

ie. Until you buy property, you're not a property investor! [Wholesaling is not investing!]
