Houston Tx.- Multi-family vs. SF property
My partner and I are looking to purchase our first investment property in Houston, Tx., and are torn between starting with multi-family homes to rent for cash-flow vs. SF homes to flip. Our ultimate goal is to own multiple apartment complexes. I would love any thoughts on what might be best starting out. So far I've deemed the main pros/cons to be that MF homes will give more cash flow, but may be harder to resell, harder to find, and have more maintenance cost.

@Account Closed multifamily homes don't necessarily have more cash flow. If you want to start with multifamily make sure you have a reserve in place. There are a lot of lessons you will learn the hard way. It's much easier to be off your numbers 10% when a property is 100,000 and not 4,000,000. I always tell people to start with single family. That is what I did and now I do multifamily exclusively in addition to rental grade contracting work for other investors.
