What are the benefits of the real estate buisness?

I'm not yet an adult, however my friends are adamant about going into the real estate business out of college and I have played the sceptic card for a while now.

Obviously, it is my job to research this business and decide for myself if I want to invest in it in the future, but I would appreciate any advice or tips that anyone may have to offer.
