Help - Can I buy a house anonymously for wholesale/rehab?

I wanted to see if anyone has bought a house for flip/wholesale without the seller knowing it was them personally.  I was thinking of either calling/mailing to see if they'd take an offer, I'd just need to make sure someone else is actually doing the transaction to keep us in background.  Any ideas?? Thanks!
