Searching for properties

I'm searching for owner financing deals. A few things.

Searching through the MLS and Craigslist, I've found a number of properties that claim to be owner/seller financing capable. Most contact information I'm getting from them all seem to be listing agents. So I'm wondering if keywords are just being used or if these are owners that happen to have licenses and are listing their own properties through the MLS. I'm worried that these won't be the financing I'm looking for and how I can higher my chances of finding such deals.

Would I be better off driving through neighborhoods looking for signs, calling for sale by owner numbers.

Also how has Craigslist helped you in your search for owner financing deals and how I can refine my search to produce better results.

I'm in the Oklahoma City area and would love to take some one out and meet with them to pick their brain.

If they are working with an agent, even if it is owner financing, the agent is still who you work with. You wont be able to go around the agent.
