Private Financing for down payment on a buy and hold multi family

Hello all!

We are getting ready to purchase our first multi family investment property and are having some difficulties on how we should structure the finances of it.

We want to use private financing for the down payment but are not sure what interest rate we should give them? How quickly should this be paid back? etc.

Should we also offer equity? If so, how much equity is a fair amount?

Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
