We are closing on our cabin in the Gatlinburg / Sevierville area this month. What are the rules around a business license? Do you have to have it to start renting? How long does it take to get? New to this any help will be appreciated.

@Maria King

You must certainly do not need to manage this thing with an LLC in fact tax wise that's not a good idea. I wouldn't bother taking that advice.

mylodgetax.com will set you up in no time. The other option is to call the county and do it yourself but my lodge is well worth their small fee.
