Direct Mailing Preferences

Hey all,

Just wanted to get a feel for what direct mailing preferences people have. I am less focused on the target audience but I am curious to see whether or not people prefer to handwrite or type their letters, whether they keep them short and sweet or go into detail on what exactly they do.

I am also curious to see if as a newbie, I'd be better off starting somewhere else for leads. I am only a college student but I am confident that a good deal will lead to funding, so that is not a worry of mine. However I am slightly worried that potential sellers would find my credibility/experience or lack of a bit worrying.

Thanks and stay safe!

@Dylan Barrett

Just a couple months ago I sent out about 50 hand written letters. I told my story briefly and why I sent the letter (looking for a home for my family). People really liked the sincerity of a hand written letter. I got a good response rate (I have 4 homes to look at when I move home in June). Don’t worry about not having experience. I’ve never done this either, but people appreciate the effort and hustle, and for the right person, that’s more than enough reason to work with YOU.
