Hi BP! I have a property located in rural Stuart, FL (west of I-95). This area is very rural with it being mostly farmland. There are a few schools nearby but that's about all there is. Over the past year they have completed a road widening project from 2 lanes to 4 lanes and now I see that a plot of land has sold next to the nearest gas station which is about a half mile away. Can anyone give me insight on the following:
1.) Is there a way I can find who bought the plot of land and if it is for commercial use? If it is for commercial use can I find out what it may become (Publix, shopping center, etc)?
2.) If it is something like a Publix or shopping center should I expect the value of my property to increase when they start to develop that land?
3.) There has been talk about adding a Publix next to the gas station as well as a downtown/residential area nearby as well. Is there any way I can check to see if these projects are moving forward or not?
Check with the Martin County growth management department for the answers to questions 1 and 3. For question 2, in my opinion, the surrounding property values would go up with development. Presently, like everywhere else, there's extremely low housing inventory for sale in our market.
Thanks for the input Andy! I will check into the growth management department.
