I am new to real estate investing and I have a question I figured I should post in the forum. Can you rent/lease your home out while you’re still making mortgage payments? Do you have to contact your lender to let them know what you plan on doing?

We never did when we leased out our home from 2018 to 2020.  We sold it a month after our tenant's lease expired.  Still would be interested in seeing other responses.
