Should I tour out of state deal before purchasing?

Looking at 25+ unit deal in midwest. I live in the west. Would you recommend physically going to the property before buying it? I am thinking about walking all units, walking around with lenders inspectors, getting to know PM, etc. I come from the institutional world where this is an absolute must. I am curious if this is also the case for smaller, personal deals that you all do. Thanks!
