Senior deferral property tax lien…Ugh 😣 !

Posted

So Oregon SUCKS! So in hopes others learn from my ignorance… we bought a property at a Sheriff auction. I was unaware of the senior deferral tax lien because you have to actually check with the state for that. Due diligence showed all taxes paid in full. Long story short we have to eat 30k. Now looking for value add to the flip. I think we’ll be okay but with ALOT less profit.

My question is… has anyone else run into this issue and how did you handle it… aka mitigate it?  How soon does the state start coming for you to pay up knowing they have a fresh catch on the line?

Thanks for any constructive criticism… always ready to learn.
