commercial lending easier then residential?

i am looking to buy my first multi unit property. i dont qualify for lending from a bank for residential purposes because i need 2 years of tax returns. do i have a better shot with commercial?

Hello Devin, 

It's much easier to get qualified with a commercial lender as they underwrite the asset and most times don't require any tax returns. You can obtain a short term, 12-18 month loan, then refinance to a longer term option once you can show a history of rents received.
