Hello,

I just won the bid on a property in SC, an REO auction. The former owner still lives there. What do you guys think would be the best strategy to evict them?

knock on the door with the, "We can do this the easy way, or we can do this the hard way" speech. Offer keys for cash. Quickly file the unlawful detainer if he/she does not cooperate. Previous owners have no federal "protecting tenants at foreclosure" protections; however, some states may have a redemption period (Like North Carolina) where previous owners may redeem the foreclosed property by paying an upset bid.
