Your local Clerk of Court keeps Mortgage Records.  First, get the address of the property, then contact your local property Tax office for the name of the Tax payer for the property, and/or for the legal description (i.e., lot number subdivision etc.), and give this information to Mortgage Records for information on current owner.  This should be public information in all State in the United States but, above procedure may differ.

Step one- look up property pin number by entering in physical address (click "property address search" on the left)

David Ward have you ever gotten the message "we've been unable to locate PINs..." On the cook county assessors website? If so, how have you gotten around the issue? It's been over a month and it still gives me this message.
