.....If you were two months behind on your mortgage and had $1600 in your checking account, had no other assets, and were wondering if you should make you $1290 mortgage payment?

Would you send the check in?

to clarify, this is not my situation (thank goodness).

I get this question all the time from distressed home owners, "Should I pay my mortgage this month."

I posed this question as a hypothetical to see what people would say.
