General Short Sale Question

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to ask a general short sale question which i'm pretty sure you have already seen before, but here it goes again. what are some disadvantages and advantages of a "short sale" on the sale side of a deal? Is the seller just wasting time or is the seller making a good investment? 

I'll appreciate any information.
