Short-Sale Opportunity In Bronx, NY

Good evening BP'ers, I have a potential client that has a property in the Bronx(NY) that has been sitting in foreclosure for close to six years and the client wants to set-up a short-sale for the property in order to be in the clear of any debt and potentially make some money in return. As being a potential RE agent of there's, what are the possibilities of conducting this type of transaction and the steps required to make it as smooth sailing as possible? Any feedback/assistance is greatly appreciated.

"Short sale attorneys" are the worst at getting short sales done.  Unfortunately, you don't know enough to know if your "specialist" is doing it right.  I hope it works out.
