A former tenant just scammed another landlord

A tenant I evicted just scammed another landlord. They were successful in getting the eviction and credit information removed from their file (the landlord shared a copy)

what do we need to do to ensure that tenants aren't misleading landlords in the future?

I'd find out how they got the eviction removed from their record. Beyond that, there isn't much you can do.
