FHA requires employment in state?

Hello everyone! So I'm trying to get a fourplex using an FHA loan. I live in CA but planning on looking out of state to start my portfolio. I'm aware of all the rules regarding an FHA, having to live in a unit for a year, taking into account PMI, etc. A lender recently told me that I had to have employment in the state I'm trying to purchase a property. So if I'm looking at Nevada for example, I'd need to have a job in the state? Is this true?
