Seeking New Construction Multi-family advice

My family owns a 2,125 sqft lot in a quickly appreciating area of the south side of Chicago. Looking for any advice or shared experience around building a multi-family property completely new construction. I'm brand new to new construction, although I have colleagues developing new  construction in Philadelphia but I know each city is different. Any advice, resources, or  connections would be much appreciated!
