Question about property management companies. Does the property management company usually take a percent of the non refundable pet fee or not?
@Matthew Moore Yes, per our management agreement. It is considered income.
Why would they expend the effort of getting one and having applicant sign all necessary docs if they aren't getting paid?
Don't make the mistake of penny-pinching so hard that you lose sight of all the time a PMC saves you!
If the deposit is non-refundable and there is no damage, why do you think one person (the home owner or the PM) should keep all of it? I don't know what the right split is, but the PM incurred costs in collecting and handling the money.
