Siding Reno Decision & Rate Buy Down

Hey BP,

Looking to get a couple questions answered about a property that I'm purchasing that will be a BRRRR.

The first question being about siding. The houses siding isn’t in terrible condition but is pretty faded. Would it be better to replace or just paint to save on costs? Drawbacks to painted vinyl?

Additionally, I’ve considered buying down the interest rate a little which would cost me around $4k and would add about $100/mo cashflow. Worth it? Or could that money be better used elsewhere?

Thanks!!
