When is the best time of day to cold call motivated sellers?

I hate catching people at a bad time when they are busy just to talk about selling their homes. Is it still better to cold call them directly or text message them?

Direct calls have a higher success rate but you can get more reach with texts and then only have to call the motivated sellers back. I find best times are early (before 11am) and later in the day (4pm and on). 

I prefer texts for one or two reasons. If I call and cannot reach the seller, I have to keep calling back until I can reach them.  Once I send a text, the message stays there until they are available to respond back at their convenience. The second thing I like about text is I do not have to catch people on the phone when they are in a bad mood to talk about selling their house. That's just me. Others may see different
