Real estate agents truly need to get good at negotiating.
Real estate agents truly need to get good at negotiating.
You can't just look at the price of a house on the MLS or with what a seller is looking for off market and say, "well, if I can't get to their number, oh well, guess it's not a fit."
Negotiating and making offers is the biggest weakness of so many agents but it's because their sales is weak.
Not trying to sound negative, but it's amazing to me how many times I've talked with an agent and they'd say, "oh there's no good deals out here."
Firstly, what a deal is to a buyer is different than what an agent would consider a deal.
Two, how do you know if you haven't even tried to make good offers?
It's a weird paradigm agents have. Stop thinking that the seller's asking price is final and there's nothing you can do.
It's all about the motivation. Draw the motivation out, and you draw out numbers that actually are good.
