Account Closed Do you already have a brokerage? As a real estate salesperson, you can't do much of anything without one. Do you know what kind of investing you want to do? What kind of markets interest you? Once you know what your interests are, look around in those areas, or at those type of houses, and see if you can find a brokerage that seems to have a steady presence there. Call them and ask if they are looking for new salespeople, or if they know someone who is. I would also strongly recommend that you find a REIA (Real Estate Investor Association) near you that you can attend so that you can network with local investors, and learn about investing. I got my start backwards, I started buying rental properties and then realized I'd like to be a property manager at some point. In my market, that means I need to be a salesperson for three years, and then I can sit for the broker's exam.

Yes, I am a new licensed real estate sales person. I do have a local REIA that I can attend. I am still shopping around for the right brokerage. Thanks for the feed back!

If you want to be a good agent, sign up with a broker that offers great training. If you want to get started in real estate investing then I suggest you start with the free ultimate beginners guide under the education tab above. From there you can go to lots af places on this site to learn. We even have a forum specifically for agents. Be patient and keep moving forward.

As a new Real estate agent who wants to find the best approach to start off her career.. Looking into real estate investing sounds fun! But how do I start? Who do I contact? Do I do research and write down goals? What would be the best thing to do to get the ball rolling? What did you guys do to start off?
